1994 A certain Craig Johnston set about creating a boot that gave that player an extra advantage, specifically extra power and swerve. He worked tirelessly experimenting with many different materials and even glued bouncy balls to his boots before coming up with the idea of the predator
 
After some persuasion Adidas took the idea on and they have never looked back. It remains the best decision they ever made to date
